This is worked on dyed hessian fabric.
I tried buttonhole wheel, barred buttonhole wheel, long and short buttonhole, buttonhole stitch shading, up and down buttonhole and saw tooth buttonhole – lots of buttonholes but not many holes!

I worked the stitches on space dyed cotton towelling with lots of different threads and used beads in some of the samples.
Fly stitch is an open detached chain stitch with lots of possible variations and can be like a “V” or a “Y” depending on the length of the anchoring stitch…

CALLED THE SMASHEES (means smashing people) there will be 8 COMPLETE WORKSHOPS, one a month

Creating backgrounds - mixed media & fabrics
Working with various tools including heat tools (iron, soldering iron & heat gun)
Discovering products.
